Marriage with Benefits

Marriage is hard.  And messy.

The first Christmas after my marriage I put several books on my “list”; Sacred Marriage: What if God Designed Marriage to Make us Holy More than Happy was one of them.  Let’s just say it was some pretty deep reading.  It’s been a while since I’ve deliberately sat down and picked up a book on marriage. When I do make it through a book these days it’s usually on parenting, potty training, raising confident girls – you get the picture.

Two weeks ago our church started a series called “Marriage with Benefits”; the first message was all about the Benefits (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) and it was excellent.  So far though, the second message in the series “Fighting Fair” has been my favorite.  As we all know (married or otherwise) all is not fair in love an war.  If you’re like me and could always use a quick “How to: not screw this up, love your spouse like Jesus, do this better . . . ” on marriage this series is a good place to start.

Check out “Fighting Fair”.
